Posted in Atavistic, Releases, Siege, SS-20 on December 4th, 2023 by foadmaster2022

Here we are at the last round of pre-orders of 2023! We haven’t yet taken stock and made an accurate calculation but hands down we can already tell you that this was the year with the most releases in the history of the label. Having a pace like this is truly an incredible sacrifice, a real death-race… needless to add that we’ll do everything to keep a similar if not higher standard for next year too… As you have seen, this has been a year full of surprises, and next it won’t be any different: consider that we already have more than 15 releases ready to be sent into production and at least as many in progress. But let’s get back to us, after a November completely dedicated to super-speeds and the most aberrant noise/grind extremism, this month we are completely focused on some 80’s hardcore classics (still keeping things on ultra-fast blasting territories in most cases), respectively from Mexico, UK and USA. After being in the works for years, we are pleased to announce a series of 3 x separate LP’s that reconstruct the total discography of Mexico’s chaospunk legends SS-20 at the best possible sonic quality, each enriched with a lot of bonus material, deluxe booklets and in short everything that you expect from F.O.A.D. editions. In detail they are: “Secta suicida siglo 20” LP, “Ojos infantiles” LP and “Cadaver exquisito” LP. Moving to a completely different zone, we fly over the UK with an essential collection from a criminally underrated band, ATAVISTIC! Completely bewitched by the beauty of their demotape “From within” (1986), we decided to put together a collection that includes that incredible demo restored to levels like you’ve never heard it before, the singles, and all their compilation tracks. This double LP anthology is titled “Retrospective – From within to clear-cut conscience”. And last but not least, we are proud to announce the reissue of a F.O.A.D. classic: the ultra-complete discography of Boston’s SIEGE, pioneers of all that is fast and extreme in hardcore. This special edition adds a previously unreleased version of “Grim Reaper” with Ben Barnett of Dropdead on guitar (different from the one included in our 2019 edition) and has a restyled packaging with deluxe gatefold jacket (red hot foil logo and 3D UV spot lac print) and extended booklet. So to recap: SS-20 “Secta suicida siglo 20” LP, SS-20 “Ojos infantiles” LP, SS-20 “Cadaver exquisito” LP, ATAVISTIC “Retrospective: from within to clear-cut conscience” 2xLP and SIEGE “Drop dead – Complete discography” gatefold 2xLP (new edition!) are all available for pre-order via www.scareystore.com

Watch out because you can also find a special bundle at a truly discounted price for those who want to grab all 3 x SS-20 LP’s (diehard edition) together. Our usual recommendations are: act fast if you want to catch the diehard editions in splatter/colored vinyl, avoid to bomb us with useless questions or anxious requests, it’s December and the amount of orders to cope with will be insane. The release date has been set for December 20th, but consider that delivery times during the Xmas mess are unpredictable and sometimes slow. Last thing: starting from now we have also applied a 20% discount on most of the previous F.O.A.D. releases and on all test pressings, a good chance to make combined orders and Xmas/end-year gifts!

After a month entirely dedicated to 80s hardcore punk, with the big surprise that was given by the start of our INDIGESTI reissue plan, as announced – for this November 2023 we are radically changing course. Over the years it has become a bit of a tradition for one of the two end year months to be focused on the most complete aural extermination, with a string of noisecore releases. And that’s what we’re about to do with this new round of pre-orders.

There’s noisecore, but also old school grindcore and powerviolence. After years of work (you can see it from the catalog numbers which are far behind) we are pleased to be able to bring to light a very detailed 2002-2014 discography of the US powerhouse SIDETRACKED, with over 200 songs.

Also from SIDETRACKED, we can finally also announce their split LP with ISOLATION AS CULT, a monster-unit of noise/grind/punk extremism (180 songs on this split!) spawned by the insane joint venture of GTB (Cripple Bastards) and HOD (Toxic Basement Studio). And to stay at unprecedented levels of eardrum annihilation, we also have the brand new 12″ by SISSY SPACEK, a US noise/grind terror squad driven by blast beats at impossible speeds (special lineup with Sulfuric Cautery drummer!). And moving to more strictly old fashioned grindcore territories.. there’s also the 1995-1997 discography by EGO FIX, a devastating Japanese band that will delight fans of S.O.B., early Napalm Death, Warsore and so on… So, to summarize:  EGO FIX “Total filth squad – discography 1995-1997” LP+CD, SISSY SPACEK “Benigemony asiniscrepancy” LP, SIDETRACKED / ISOLATION AS CULT – Split LP and SIDETRACKED “Rumination – collected works chapter I” digipack 2xCD are all available on preorder via www.scareystore.com

All 4 will be premiered at the legendary Record Planet fair in Den Bosch, Netherlands (November 11-12) and we will start shipping around November 20th. Our suggestions are always the same: no stress before the release date, act fast if you want to secure copies on colored vinyl, all releases are very limited… And keep an eye out for the discounted bundle with all 4 of these titles together, it’s an opportunity not to be missed and as a special bonus it also includes a free ISOLATION AS CULT “Phase #2” flexi disc!!

On the last batch of F.O.A.D. releases – entirely dedicated to Japanese hardcore thrash – we left saying: “the next month will be 100% hardcore, with 4 incredible releases. We can’t say much yet but among the names there is a true giant of Italian HC that for a very long time has been kept frozen without any chance of being reissued. Stay tuned because it’s a sensational surprise!” And here we are finally revealing that giant: F.O.A.D. Records is proud to announce a teamwork with Italy’s Hardcore legends INDIGESTI to reissue their entire 80’s discography on vinyl! This will include the following 3 titles: “Sguardo realtà 1982-83” Gatefold 2xLP / “Osservati dall’inganno” Gatefold LP / “Live in Lübeck, 02.09.1987″ Gatefold LP+7”. INDIGESTI has been one of the earliest and most important bands in the first wave of Italian Hardcore through the legendary “furious years” and also one of the first to tour the States and Europe back then. These top quality reissues will feature loads of exclusive, unreleased extras and massive booklets with interviews, photos, flyers, original artworks and more!! So this month we’re starting with the first of these 3 gems: INDIGESTI “Sguardo realtà 1982-1983” 2xLP (including 1 LP full of extra unreleased sessions).  In conjunction with this we picked another Italian Hardcore masterpiece: “É arrivato Ah Pook” LP, the amazing debut demo (1986) by CONTROPOTERE, for the first time on vinyl. Then, by popular demand, we decided that in our catalog there must always be NERORGASMO‘s “Passione nera 1985-1993” 2xLP discography and so here we go with a new version, this time with a special diehard edition in black on white splatter vinyl. And last but not least, we completely change country to fly to another mecca of 80s Hardcore… New York!! We promised you more chapters in the reissue of the entire Unsound Music catalogue, and here we are with the long awaited SATAN’S CHEERLEADERS “What the hell” total discography! Unique hardcore, fast, nervous and highly original. Double LP with bonus CD compiling the entire discography, including two demos never released until now.

So to summarize: INDIGESTI “Sguardo realtà 1982-1983” gatefold 2xLP, CONTROPOTERE “É arrivato Ah Pook” gatefold LP, SATAN’S CHEERLEADERS “”What the hell – complete recordings 1982-1986” gatefold 2xLP+CD, NERORGASMO “Passione nera: discografia 1985-1993” gatefold 2xLP (4th pressing) are all available on preorder via www.scareystore.com The diehard colored/splatter versions are expected to go very quickly, so as always we strongly recommend you to act fast. Also, the release date for these 4 records is October 23rd, as usual we kindly request you to avoid to change your order once placed or stress us with unnecessary requests during the pre-order phase. Thank you!

In perfect timing with what was planned, we are proud to announce that the F.O.A.D. round of Japanese thrash-hardcore releases for September is out today! 5 incredible treasures from the past (1987-1996), ranging from well-known names like Asbestos to total niche obscurities like Unhuman Society Death and Gigatic Khmer. The common thread that binds everything together is: these are important underground recordings that would be completely lost without these restoration and reissueing works, in terms of quality and intensity these unknown thrash ragers are very interesting and deserve to be discovered and appreciated.

So to cut it short: ASBESTOS “Agonized cry” 2xLP, NIGA-ROBO “Bloody history of family” 2×7″EP, INZEST “Violence not words” LP (new edition), UNHUMAN SOCIETY DEATH “Demo 1989” LP and GIGATIC KHMER “A fetus – Demo 1989” LP are all out now on F.O.A.D. After an extremely intense season, between summer festivals and an avalanche of releases that have kept us positively engaged at truly unparalleled levels, we are thrilled to be back to base ready to announce a new bombardment consisting of 5 vinyl thrash-grenades .. It’s useless now say it, the Japanese Metal/Punk formula in conspiracy with F.O.A.D. Records is always a winning card, by now we have lost count of the 100+ F.O.A.D. works dedicated to the most obscure and hard-to-find bands from the remote niches of this country so close to our hearts. And what we’re about to introduce for this month is exactly the sum of it all: 5 little treasures of Japanese Hardcore/Thrash ranging from 1987 to 1996.. needless to say, a golden era! Starting from the best known name, we’re stoked to announce the first time on vinyl of “Agonized cry”, the second album (1996) of the mighty ASBESTOS, then by popular demand we offer you a new version of “Violence not words” – the discography of INZEST, ultra-hardcore at lightning speed, and moving on to the most obscure thrash yet to be discovered, three rare gems from our crypts of rare demos and unreleased recordings: NIGA-ROBO 2×7″, UNHUMAN SOCIETY DEATH with their only demo 1989 on LP and GIGATIC KHMER, another fantastic and worthwhile thrash demotape to be played endlessly.

So to summarize: ASBESTOS “Agonized cry” 2xLP, NIGA-ROBO “Bloody history of family” 2×7″EP, INZEST “Violence not words” LP (new edition), UNHUMAN SOCIETY DEATH “Demo 1989” LP and GIGATIC KHMER “A fetus – Demo 1989” LP are available for pre-order. We will start shipping from September 20th 2023. As usual our recommendations are: 1) these are very limited titles, so if you want to secure the diehard versions don’t think twice.. act fast! As many of you asked for it, we have also made available a ltd. bundle with colored versions of all 5 at a discounted price, don’t miss out… 2) we will do everything possible to start shipping on the announced release date but please don’t stress us with constant requests on when we ship, tracking, changes of address or replacements of items, this is the sort of stuff that slows us down and really gives us nightmares, be patient and we’ll do everything to satisfy you as quickly as humanly possible. And if this month is dedicated to maniacs of Japanese Hardcore Thrash – also paying homage from the F.O.A.D. team to the myth of Sakevi (RIP),  get ready because on the next one we will stay in the Hardcore field, with some classics of intergalactic weight that we can’t wait to reveal!!

More in detail on this month’s 5 x rage-in-hell thrashers:
