SCHIZO “Before the collapse 1985-87” LP+7″+CD (F.O.A.D. 101)

New version with a cover and insert in different colors than the previous edition. The most exhaustive SCHIZO demo collection you can dream of. One LP, one 7″ inch and one CD all in one package, housed in a thick gatefold sleeve with a poster-sized foldout insert full of rare photos, and ‘zine excerpts.. a true work of heart just like every F.O.A.D. release!  This collection compiles all the band’s recordings before their killer “Main frame collapse” debut full length (1989), 20 songs of what was with no doubt one of the most deranged, fast and original extreme metal acts in the 80s Italian panorama.  If you also count in the early stuff by their brothers-in-mayhem Necrodeath, these were the first examples of hyper-speed driven death/thrash from Italy, that in more simple words equals “the first blast beats to ever land on the Italian Metal territories”.  Here you get their complete “T.T.U.T.T.K. [Thrash The Unthrashable, Thrash To Kill]” Demo 1985, “TOTAL SCHIZOPHRENIA” Demo 1986, “M.F.C. [Main Frame Collapse Demo]” 1987 and as bonus an ultra obscure “Private rehearsal tape – May 31, 1985” with completely unreleased tracks!  All these treasures mastered from the best sounding 1st generation sources provided and approved by the band..  This monsterwork portrays in the most effective way the band’s evolution from their nihilistic thrashing hardcore roots to the sadistic nerve ripping sonic torment of their cult “Total schizophrenia” Demo (mentioned by Max Cavalera as one of the reasons why he choose “Schizophrenia” as title for Sepultura’s 2nd masterpiece).  Fans of ultra fast blasting thrash a la Wehrmacht, early Sadus, Merciless, Sarcofago.. this is a must have!

After a month entirely dedicated to what has become a true tradition in our catalog – Japanese hardcore, it was time to remind ourselves that this year marks the 40th anniversary of F.O.A.D. Records, and that called for a return to our roots. The label was founded at a time when metal and hardcore went hand in hand, and the first crossover and thrashcore fusions were taking shape.. a blend that, over time, has inspired countless bands and speed obsessed generations. What we’ve prepared for you this month is essentially a THRASH month, but we’re talking about thrash in the F.O.A.D. mentality – that is, rooted in that hellish metal punk cauldron of the 1980s. In fact, all 5x releases this month date back to that golden era.

From Brazil, we have the two debut albums (1986-1988) by the legends DORSAL ATLANTICA, here in the most deluxe and meticulously crafted reissues you’ve ever seen… then, moving to Italy – specifically Sicily – we have the insane collection of demos/early works by SCHIZO, a second pressing with updated graphics, and.. still “partially” in Italy, a phenomenal band that moved to the UK in the ’80s to give birth to a psychotic and highly original thrash blend, LORD CRUCIFIER, and to top it all off, we have a new edition of the Hungarian horde FANTOM, remastered from a recently found new master – the best sounding ever, featuring unreleased bonus rehearsal tracks (1987) and a meticulous mastering by the wizard Patrick Engel that makes it sound years better than any version you’ve heard before. So, to sum up, this month’s thrash overdose consists of: DORSAL ATLANTICA “Antes do fim – 40th anniversary edition” trifold LP and “Dividir & conquistar” Gatefold LP, LORD CRUCIFIER “Cataclism” Gatefold 2xLP, SCHIZO “Before the collapse 1985-87” LP+7″+CD, FANTOM “Lucifer jelenj meg! + Rehearsals 1987” LP. They are all available for pre-order at www.scareystore.com.  As always, you can also find a limited-edition bundle that includes all 5 diehard marbled vinyl versions, for those who want to buy them all at once at a discounted price.  The bundle will be available at our discretion, we usually remove it once pre-orders close, so don’t miss out! And now, the usual reminders we give you every time: 1) Please try not to overwhelm us with requests that could cause stress, such as last-minute additions to orders already placed, changes to your address or payment method, tracking numbers before the release date (that is set for April 16th), and so on… 2) Please be patient and give us time to pack and ship your orders. 3) Don’t wait too long to purchase the diehard editions, as they’re the first to sell out.

Here are a few more details about each title:

Detailed reviews of each release:

CRIONIC “The land which once were” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 336)

Official reissue of one the greatest and best sounding demos in the history of ’80s Danish speed thrashin’ metal! The perfect blend between early METALLICA and EXODUS with the mittel-European school of DESTRUCTION and KREATOR driven by memorable riffs, a solid rhythmic base, all channeled into their own unmistakable style. Quoting Fenriz (Darthrone): “…over the (funeral) moon about the fact that FOAD Records is releasing one of my favourite demos on vinyl! Truly a lost gem… This recording kind of created their own land within a very crowded metal world at the time, an exciting epic introvert world of its own.”  LP with complete demo 1986, bonus CD with the demo +  bonus rehearsals 1986-1987 including unreleased songs. 16 page booklet with photos, lyrics, liner notes, an introduction by Fenriz and scans of the original cassette artwork. INCINERATOR “Mass genocide / Live into the crematorium” LP (F.O.A.D. 325)

Official reissue of the 2 cult demotapes of this insanely fast thrash horde hailing from Sicily!
– “Mass genocide” (1987)
– “Live into the crematorium” (1986)
One of the many underrated gems of the Italian death-core scene of the 80s, not far from the maniacally fast style of their fellow countrymen Schizo but recommended even to fans of the golden years of Cogumelo Rec.!
An incendiary holocaust of blasting speeds and vitriolic riffs for a radical and aggressive thrash assault that also harkens back to the faster hardcore of that era. For the first time on vinyl (forget the unofficial, bad-sounding lathe cut 10″s that came out a few months ago) remastered from the best sound sources in existence and finally giving these incredible recordings the proper quality-treatment. Includes an insert with photos, flyers and scans of the original demos. Watch the trailer HERE

SCHIZO “Main frame collapse” LP  (F.O.A.D. 010)

Ultra fucking FAST sicilian thrash-core mayhem!! New F.O.A.D. reissue faithfully reproducing the original pressing on Crime Records. One of the earliest bands in Italy to introduce the blast-beat formula on Thrash/Death songs. This is one of the most representative extreme metal records out of Italy’s 80s scene. Insanely THRASHING and VIOLENT!! If you also count in the early stuff by their brothers-in-mayhem NECRODEATH (as a matter of fact, half of the songs on this album had NECRODEATH’s former screamer Ingo on vocals), SCHIZO were among the first pioneers of hyper-speed driven thrash emerging from Italy, that in more simple words equals “the first blast beats to ever land on the Italian Metal territories”. Housed in a reverse board jacket with the addition of an insert with lyrics and rare photos of the time. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies

Diehard splatter white on red vinyl limited to 150 copies

BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP (F.O.A.D. 050)

New edition with Japanese OBI strip mocking up the style of the Japanese pressing of “The day of wrath” on Far East Metal Syndicate. The extremely rare BULLDOZER demotape 1984 with the kult “Fallen angel” 7″ added as a bonus. One of the most incredible finds in FOAD’s hunting career: only 3 copies of this demo exist, one sent to Roadrunner, one to King Diamond, and one exhumed in 2013 in AC Wild’s basement and delivered to us for the highest quality treatment. This is the recording that got Bulldozer signed with Roadrunner in 1984 and it sounds killer – different and rawer versions of the classics that ended up on their slasher debut “The Day of Wrath.” Dark and demonic black/speed metal from the wildest guts of Italy’s 80s metal inferno, for all those who worship the early releases of Venom, Bathory and Possessed; plus, the “Fallen angel” session adds that Motörhead touch that makes this record an instant masterpiece of rawness. See how AC Wild introduced these unreleased demo recordings: “This tape was sent to Roadrunner and Roadrunner put us under contract in 1984. It was also sent to King Diamond to ask if he would be interested in being the producer of our album, but he declined saying this stuff sounded ‘too Punk’!!!”  Comes with an insert with liner notes, rare photos and scans of the “Fallen angel” 7″, including the previously unreleased alternate sleeve version. Watch the trailer HERE

CRIONIC “The land which once were” LP+CD, INCINERATOR “Mass genocide / Live into the crematorium” LP, SCHIZO “Main frame collapse” LP and BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP pre-orders start NOW!!

Posted in Bulldozer, Crionic, Incinerator, Releases, Schizo on March 4th, 2024 by foadmaster2022

This month on F.O.A.D. Records is a completely different beast than previous ones in recent memory, which had been focused almost entirely on 80s hardcore punk. As you all know, our label (formerly a fanzine) was born at a time when there was a fantastic blending of punk and metal.  Over the years we have always continued to keep this spirit alive by alternating months entirely HC to others more dedicated to metal in all its forms. And here we are finally at a new all-metal round on F.O.A.D. Records. Specifically, all totally THRASH!!

3x classic Italian bands and 1 from Denmark. On the Italian side we have reissued two LPs that were previously (several years ago) already released by F.O.A.D.: the legendary SCHIZO “Main frame collapse”, this time in a version completely faithful to the 1989 original on Crime Rec. (and thus arriving to its 35th anniversary) and BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP, in a new special edition with OBI strip in Japanese designed on the same line as the old Far East Metal Syndicate pressing of “The day of wrath” LP.  On the total novelty side instead we have the vinyl collection of the mind-blowing demotapes by Sicily’s INCINERATOR, and last but not least a real gem for all lovers of those 80s demos that have a beauty and importance equal to a real album: the Danish CRIONIC, often mentioned by Fenriz / Darkthrone as one of the most impactful demos in 80s Scandinavian metal.   So to summarize: CRIONIC “The land which once were” LP+CD, INCINERATOR “Mass genocide / Live into the crematorium” LP, SCHIZO “Main frame collapse” LP and BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP are all available for pre-order via scareystore.com!  As usual two recommendations: 1) hurry up if you want to get the limited editions on colored/splatter vinyl, 2) during the pre-order phase don’t pester us with unnecessary requests such as order changes, address changes, additions, afterthoughts of all sorts – because by doing so we go into stress and all this slows down our work which makes sure that all pre-orders are processed in time with the release date, which in this case is March 18. As is now customary we have made available a ltd. bundle for those who want to purchase the diehard editions of all 4 titles in bulk, you can find it at this link and it will expire on the out now date, so act fast!

SCHIZO  “Delayed Death – 1984/1989 The Years Of Collapse” 2xCD Digipack (F.O.A.D. 206)

Ultra fucking FAST Sicilian Thrash-core assault!! The most exhaustive SCHIZO early days’ collection you can dream about. A deluxe Double CD set compiling the following:

CD 1 – “Main frame collapse” album (1989)

CD 2 –  “Before the collapse 1985-1987” Demo collection consisting of:  “MFC” Demo (1987) / “Total Schizophrenia” Demo (1986) / “Thrash the unthrashable, thrash to kill” Demo (1985) / Bonus rehearsals (1985)

31 songs of what was with no doubt one of the most deranged, fast and original Extreme Metal acts in the Italian scene of the ’80s.  If you also count in the early stuff by their brothers-in-mayhem Necrodeath, these were the first examples of hyper-speed driven thrashin’ Death Metal from Italy, that in more simple words equals “the first blast beats to ever land on the Italian Metal territories“. All these treasures mastered from the best sounding 1st generation sources provided and approved by the band.

This monsterwork portrays in the most effective way the band’s evolution from their nihilistic thrashing Hardcore roots to the sadistic nerve ripping sonic torment of their “Total schizophrenia” Demo (mentioned by Max Cavalera as one of the reasons why he choose “Schizophrenia” as title for Sepultura‘s 2nd masterpiece) to their absolute cult debut “Main Frame Collapse“. Fans of ultra fast blasting Thrash a la Wehrmacht, early Sadus, Merciless, Sarcofago… this is a must have!  Housed in a 8 panel digipack including two booklets for a total of 40 pages full of rare photos, flyers, scans of the original tapes and lyrics!  Watch the trailer HERE

After starting the year at full throttle, offering you an incredible month all dedicated to Japanese Metal/Punk with 3 titles that got completely sold out in pre-order, we’re heading back to a completely different beast still digging into the sickest and most dangerous guts of an inexhaustible pit made of ancient and dark treasures from all corners of the world. Raw primordial Black/Death Metal and ultrafast Thrashcore are definitely two well-tested offensive tactics here at F.O.A.D. and this is exactly what we have prepared for you this month. A total discography double LP by Italy’s pioneering Death Metal unit ANGEL DEATH, collecting all their recordings from ’86 to ’95, an exhaustive 2xCD retrospective by the Italian Thrashcore masters SCHIZO compiling all their ’80s works from the early demos to “Main frame collapse” and then the official reissue of one of the most iconic demos from the Singaporean Black Metal inferno, XASTHUR‘s “Hidden lore” finally getting the vinyl treatment! So to sum it all up..: ANGEL DEATHMemoirs of death: the history 1986-1995” gatefold 2xLP, XASTHURHidden lore” LP and SCHIZODelayed Death – 1984/1989 The Years Of Collapse” 2xCD digipack are all available on preorder. This time the preorder phase will be a bit tighter because with the last batch of releases things went slower than what we expected due to the many postal changes that have been applied from January 1st, and we have finished to ship the last part just 1 week ago. Once again we strongly recommend you to act fast if you want to catch the diehard colored vinyl versions, as it often happens with our ltd. editions, they finish in few days.
