As most of you already know, F.O.A.D. Records has always lived deep in the underground and at the most extreme edges of music, but we have never believed in staying locked inside one single genre. Our crew is made up of people with very different tastes, and that diversity has always been reflected in the records we choose to release. This month’s batch probably represents that philosophy better than ever – and for many of you, there are going to be some serious surprises! We start with a release of colossal proportions for anyone obsessed with genuine hyper-fast UK hardcore – call it Britcore if you want – from that mid-’80s school that would soon become a major influence on the early Earache sound: the legendaryINTENSE DEGREE, with a massive collection gathering everything they recorded outside their Earache material. From there we jump straight into the ’90s and into a completely different universe: darker, heavier, metallic hardcore from another absolutely historic name, Cleveland’sINTEGRITY, with two audiophile reissues of the original mixes of their timeless classics“Those who fear tomorrow”(35th anniversary) and“Humanity is the devil”(30th anniversary). Staying within the extended INTEGRITY family but taking a violent turn into completely different territory, we havePSYWARFARE, spearheaded by Dwid Hellion: a crushing wall of power electronics and noise, presented here in a 30th anniversary edition of their legendary 1996 Cleveland performance opening for MASONNA and MERZBOW. And to close an already completely over-the-top month, we dug deep into the darkest corners of the ’80s Texas thrashcore scene:CEREBRAL DISTORTION, with their ultra-rare 1986 demo appearing on vinyl for the very first time – a buried gem for anyone into CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT, D.R.I. and the likes.
