Without the slightest doubt this has been the most messed up and exhausting summer in the history of FOAD Records: from June to now we have put out 14 releases (!!!), resumed traveling with our huge mobile shop/booth attending those festivals where it has always been a sort of tradition for us to go and just to add a little more stress, at the moment we’re also moving one of our two warehouses to a new location! For all these reasons together, it will be very difficult that we’ll be able to deliver new sonic crimes also in September, the chances are very few, but we’re not beat yet, so keep an eye out.  Anyway let’s get back to something closer to now: our 4x August releases are all ready, in perfect timing with what was announced and almost all your pre-orders have already been shipped, expect to receive them soon!

In short: MORBID SCREAM “Bloodstains: 941 Longhorn Drive – The Morbid Scream Demos” 2xLP, EXPULSION “Certain corpses never decay – 1989-1990” 2xLP, DEATH MILITIA “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD and OBLIVION “Intention to kill – Demos & rarities 1985” LP+CD are out today on FOAD Records. There aren’t many copies left of the ltd. editions on colored vinyl (Morbid Scream and Death Militia being the best sellers) so we strongly suggest you to act fast if you haven’t yet secured them to your collection.

More in detail on each of them:

MORBID SCREAM “Bloodstains: 941 Longhorn Drive – The Morbid Scream Demos” 2xLP  (F.O.A.D. 235)

TEXAS THRASH MASSACRE!!  After being in the works for years, here’s finally the MORBID SCREAM complete discography 1987-1990 for the first time on vinyl, collecting all their existing recordings…:
– Demo I (1987) / Demo II (1988) / – Demo III (1990) / – Live in Arlington, Dallas and Fort Worth 1987-1988
A ballistic assault of pioneering Texan Thrash, combining mid paced, hard moshing parts with neck-breaking accelerations, abrasive vocals and stomping riffs. One of the many hidden gems from the boundless underground pit of obscure recordings and rare demos to be discovered and appreciated. Even if for a long time they didn’t get the deserved recognition, MORBID SCREAM left an important mark in the 80’s American Thrash scene, so much that they have been tributed by the mighty ABSU, that covered “The Coming of War” and “Morbid Scream” on “The Sun of Tiphareth” and “The Third Storm of Cythraul” albums respectively. Sourced and mastered from the band’s 1st generation tapes. Includes a massive 48 PAGE BOOKLET with liner notes, interviews, loads of band photos, flyers, original art and more!!  Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Solid black vinyl limited to 200 copies

Diehard marbled vinyl (LP1 white / LP2 red) limited to 100 copies

EXPULSION “Certain corpses never decay – Complete recordings 1989-1990” 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 215)

Early Swedish Death Metal malignity at its finest! Expulsion started in November 1988 with Calle Fransson on drums, Anders Holmberg on bass and Stefan Lagergren on guitars. Actually the band was formed out of the ashes of a band called River’s Edge, that consisted of the three Expulsion members, Magnus Kranz on guitar and Johan Edlund (TIAMAT) on vocals. After the “Mind the Edge” demo the band felt apart. In April 1989, Expulsion released their first demo called “Cerebral Cessation”. November that year they recorded their second demo “Veiled in the mists of mystery”. The previously unreleased track “Certain corpses never decay” was released on the underground compilation tape “Hymns of the  Dead vol.2”. In 1990 Expulsion entered Sunlight Studios (Entombed Dismember, Tiamat etc.), to record two tracks produced by Tomas Skogsberg. After these recordings Expulsion broke up (and reformed with two new members 2 years later). Expulsion guitar player Stefan and bassist Anders both also played in Treblinka / Tiamat. They recorded and played (and Stefan Lagergren wrote) all the Treblinka demos/EP and the TIAMAT debut album “Sumerian Cry” (1990). This collection includes all the above mentioned demos, the rare comp. track and the Sunlight Studio session. All these recordings are being released for the first time on vinyl, completely restored and remastered. Coverart by Eric Danielsson (WATAIN). Gatefold jacket with photos, scans of the original tapes, an exclusive interview + large poster!  A must have for the diehard maniacs of pioneering Swedish Death Metal, highly recommended if you also like Treblinka/early Tiamat, Morbid, Nihilist and Grotesque. Quoting Chris Bailey (Infernal Majesty):  “What I remember about seeing Death Militia was a lot of broken glass and a lot of blood. And I’ll never forget the cow skull they had on stage with them”.
Sourced from the band’s tapes and specially mastered for vinyl for the most destructive sonic impact. Intense, abrasive thrash from one of the earliest bands from the insane mid 80’s Toronto scene that also spawned legends such as Razor, Sacrifice, Slaughter, Infernal Majesty and many more! Were you hoping that we would go on vacation in August avoiding to torment you with yet another dose of FOAD thrashing bombarments? No way! And if in July we attacked you with a plethora of incendiary hardcore bombs – to counterbalance things in pure FOAD style, now it’s time to shoot some obscure ’80s metal gems. Two of the releases we are about to announce have been pending for more than a year due to a dispute with a local pressing plant that kept delaying them without giving us a delivery date, until we decided to take them out of production and send them to be pressed elsewhere. This is one of the main reasons that caused a domino-effect that has overloaded and congested us in the last few months.. but in the end we’re getting used to it and so why slow down this mad race.. let’s thrash!

So our recipe for August is all centered on ’80s speed/thrash with two US bands + one from Canada, and there’s also a seminal Scandinavian black/death horde finally getting the deserved vinyl treatment. We’re talking of Texas’ thrashers MORBID SCREAM and their complete discography entitled “Bloodstains: 941 Longhorn Drive – The Morbid Scream Demos” 2xLPEXPULSION from Sweden with an exhaustive retrospective of their early works:  “Certain corpses never decay – Complete recordings 1989-1990”, Canada’s speed thrashing maniacs DEATH MILITIA with “Onslaught of death – Demo & live 1985” LP+CD (their rare debut demo spiced up by plenty of bonus stuff from the same year) and New Jersey’s OBLIVION with a collection of all their amazing 1985 recordings called “Intention to kill – Demos & rarities 1985” LP+CD, highly energetic thrash/speed metal with a solid hardcore backbone. All of these are available for preorder via www.scareystore.com and will be premiered at Party San Open Air where you will find the massive FOAD booth, as always. We will start to ship them from August 22nd.  As usual we recommend you to act fast if you want to catch the diehard colored vinyl versions, they’re very limited and won’t last for long!
